The payments industry is going through a period of unprecedented change with new players disrupting traditional models and open source banking set to accelerate the industry’s transformation. The digitisation of payments together with shortcomings in banking services have opened the door to new FinTech players who know that the key to success is to put the customer – not the product – at the heart of their story. One only has to look to China where FinTechs have disintermediated the banks and become dominant players in payments to appreciate the risk to incumbents.
Our webinar will focus on these key questions for the industry:
- How can banks meet the needs of digital natives?
- How are the smart players harnessing data and analytics?
- How should incumbents be working with start-ups?
- How will open source banking change the game?
This new world will be highly competitive. Banks risk losing control of their customers as people gain the freedom to access financial services from many different sources. The forward-thinking banks know they have huge challenges ahead; they know they need to adapt their strategy to embrace the wider API economy; to work with the FinTechs and to offer a seamless and truly enhanced digital experience for their customers.
