1) Because it’s free to enter (and you get a free swag)
Yep that’s right – entering the Enterprise Apps World Hackathon is completely free. The only thing you will need to pay for is the travel ticket to get you to London’s Olympia National. We even provide you with energy drinks and grub to keep you going during the hackathon itself.
2) Because there are fab prizes up for grabs
Although we know you love to code just for your own glory great prizes help with motivation too and our sponsors have come up with lots of prize-winning goodies to help inspire. For the winner of the Progress brief there is £1,000 in Amazon vouchers up for grabs. Amazon vouchers worth £500 and £200 will be awarded for second and third place respectively. Meanwhile for the winner of the SendGrid brief there is a Braven 570 Bluetooth speaker for each team member (up to four people) and a Raspberry PI kit each for second place as well as general SendGrid swag.
3) Because you love coding
Isn’t that the key reason why anyone enters a hackathon? Exploring your creativity and getting the chance to code in an event dedicated to just that is a hackers dream and we are giving you two days (and an evening too if you ‘re really dedicated) to do just that. You can enter with friends or alternatively make new friends and build teams at the hackathon itself – it’s up to you.
4) Because you love the challenge of a great brief
The real beauty of a hackathon is getting your teeth into a great brief to get your creative juices flowing and as usual our sponsors have come up with some great challenges for you. The full briefs can be viewed here but to give you a taster Progress are asking you to build a Commonwealth Games inspired app using Progress Rollbase whilst SendGrid simply want to see the coolest project you can build using their APIs.
5) Because it could land you that dream job or top contact
Hackathons are a fun way to do something you love but there is an added bonus too. Talent impresses and as well as your hacking peers there will be lots of people to impress – from our Hackathon sponsors SendGrid and Progress to our judges as well as all the sponsors, exhibitors and attendees that you can get a chance to mingle with on the exhibition floor of Enterprise Apps World if you dare take a break from hacking.
If you haven’t yet signed up to the Enterprise Apps World Hackfest the above five reasons should be all you need to register for free now. If you are interested in joining the line-up as a sponsor there is also still time so get in touch now.
