If you think your app is the bees knees then now is not the time to be shy but instead to be putting pen to paper (or stylus to tablet) to craft your award-winning entry for the third annual Appsters Awards, in association with Apps World Europe. This year's awards include the addition of three new categories. Here we bring you what you need to know about the Appsters 2014.
How long do I have to enter?
You have two months from now to convince us why you should be a winner and with more categories then ever there is no escuse not to enter. Entries close on 5 September to allow plenty of time for judging. The shortlist will be announced on the week commencing 6 October with the awards presented at a fun-filled ceremony on the evening of the first day of Apps World Europe on November 12.
What are the categories?
There are 15 categories to enter this year – including the overall award of Appsters Champion 2014 presented to the winner that most impresses the judges. The categories for 2014 include Best IoT development 2014, Best use of the cloud 2014, Best app technology 2014, Best Entertainment App 2014, App Developer 2014, Mobile Marketing Agency 2014, Start-up app 2014, Indie Game Developer 2014, Most Innovative App 2014, Best Consumer App 2014, Best Enterprise App 2014, Best Use of API 2014, Best Commerce Solutions 2014, Best TV App 2014 and the Appster Champion 2014 award.
What should I do?
The awards are open to brands, app developers, and creative agencies, mobile marketing agencies and technology providers and can be entered directly by companies or by agencies on behalf of their clients. All we ask is that you sum up the reasons why you should win in no more than the equivalent of two sides of A4. Submissions must relate to activity within the period of August 2013 to 2014 to qualify.
How much does it cost?
Nada. Nowt. Diddly squat. Entering the Appsters Awards is free – the only investment we ask is that you take the time to tell us exactly why you should win. After that all you need to do is sit back and see if you’ve made the shortlist in October.
How will they be judged?
Our esteemed panel of judges include industry leading names such as Paul Clark, technology controller, online, pay and interactive at ITV; Josh Saunders, head of technical and creative, digital marketing at Warner Music UK; Terry Cordeiro, head of mobile at Royal Bank of Scotland and Gino Goossens, director of omni-channel strategy and innovations for UK and international for Maplin Electronics. The panel will review and score entries based on elements that include objective, execution, innovation and uniqueness, feasibility, measuring and demonstrating success, category relevance, and user experience.
What will I win?
You will win our coveted Appsters Award – the industry equivalent of the Oscars (well almost!) and the chance to win the overall recognition (and another gong) of being the Appster Champion 2014 -- the ultimate prize of the night.
We look forward to receiving your entries over the next few weeks and seeing you at the awards party on 12 November. All the details you need can be found at www.the-appsters.com
