You will be speaking at the event on April 24th about Sponsored Data - What do you plan to cover and explain in your presentation?
We are facing a new era of constant change due to innovation and technology. Right now, we don’t consume products and services the same way we used to 25-30 years ago… it's the same with advertising.
New trends such as Sponsored Data and Data Rewards bring new ways of doing digital advertising on mobile devices that are revolutionizing this industry. This is what I plan to cover doing my presentation, showing examples from Latam and all over the world and bringing to the discussion new ways (and opportunities) of doing advertising.
Why should Latin American carriers not ignore the DCB opportunity?
As I mentioned, we are in a time of continuous change and carriers should take advantage of the new opportunities that DCB brings. Carriers had “their moment of big growth” during the 90s and early 2000s… OTTs had (and perhaps still have) their moment during the last 5 years and now it is time for carriers to once more enhance the direct relationship they have with customers through DCB. Carriers have a great opportunity in billing almost anything that the customer needs… it’s only a matter of time before both parties join: the one who provides the billing with the one who provides the content and/or service.
Is 5G a good opportunity for telcos to offer additional services and succeed with content monetization, more so than with 4G or 3G?
For sure! And of course 5G will bring many more opportunities for monetization than previous networks.
5G is the future of the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR). 5G will connect people, devices and systems in other ways that we haven’t experienced yet, and that we can’t even imagine right now… The future is now: instant and accurate connectivity that will boost inter-relations of things with humans. 5G will definitely bring it!
What are you most looking forward to with regards to speaking at, and attending, the 5G & LTE Latin America event in Rio de Janeiro on April 24-26?
I hope to interact with the best minds in Latam, share opinions and thoughts with everyone, while discussing about the opportunities that DCB brings to the Telecommunications Industry.
It is a moment of changing, we need to take the most of this great event that DCB and 5G<E Latin America is, where while discovering these opportunities, we can shape and create the future of the industry.
